Why Choose to Train Like an Athlete?

Because you are one.

After I graduated from sport, I went through years of trying to figure out how to love exercise again. I tried the body builder routines- they didn’t stick. I tried group fitness- wasn’t for me. I couldn’t get inspired by the concept of working out just to look a certain way in the mirror. It was ruining my self-confidence by constantly comparing myself to those around me and I was drifting away from the person I knew myself to be- strong, capable, and badass.

That’s when I was introduced the concept of training like an athlete, even though I wasn’t competing anymore. I leaned into Strength & Conditioning and discovered that running, jumping, medicine balls, hurdles, and weight lifting for functionality were all possible. All of those fun things I did when I was an athlete were still possible. I realized that just because we don’t have our sport anymore doesn’t mean we can’t benefit from being athletic.

Making this realization changed my whole life. Since I started training like an athlete, I’ve rediscovered my confidence and found the piece of me that had felt like it was missing- the piece of me that identifies as an athlete. We are LIFELONG athletes if we allow ourselves to be. And that power and fulfillment that comes from this is second to none. THAT is why I created this program. THAT is why I want to share this program with as many people as possible. It’s my mission to bring joy and fulfillment back into exercise.
